Clarifying Masque Powder made with Terramin (Montmorillonite Clay)

You may wish to use clay alone when preparing a masque, or mix it with several other ingredients.  One formula consists of three ounces of clay, one egg, and equal parts of honey and cold water.  The amount of honey added determines the hydrating ability of the masque.  Persons with dry skin, or those who live in a dry climate, should add more honey than water.  Persons with oily skin, or those who live in a humid climate, may prefer less honey and more water for a more absorbent masque.  Leave the masque on for about 20 minutes, then rinse, rub, or brush off.  After preparing the masque, you can store what is left over in the refrigerator.

Directions

To 1 rounded teaspoon of powder add enough water or milk to make a loose, aqueous mixture that can be applied with brush or fingers.  Apply a thin layer and allow to dry for 10 to 15 minutes or longer.  Rinse with warm water and pat dry.  For best results, use Terrasilk three times weekly.

Why I Love It

Terrasilk is a wonderful masque powder than you can be creative with. I love adding different ingredients, certain oils (avocado, olive, coconut), oatmeal, eggs, milk, lemon, honey, apple cider vinegar and more.  Remember, a little bit goes a long way, and extra can be put in the refrigerator (I prefer storing it in glass, not plastic if possible).  You can pretend to be an alchemist, of course gold will not be achieved (I already tried), but your face will glow!  Great stuff, fun to create your own personal masque.
